Sixth Form (Key Stage 5)

Our Sixth Form provides students with opportunities to learn and develop the skills for life, work and leisure. Students are able to access a range of practical, academic, vocational and enrichment programmes including: 

 

All students are able to follow a study programme tailored to their needs and personal aspirations beyond school. Our aim is to prepare our students for life beyond the school enabling them to make a successful transition on their chosen pathway to adult life. In order to do this we offer opportunities for students to;

 

Classes are taught by the class tutor for most key subjects including English and Maths.  In addition, students are also taught by other staff from within the department depending on their options. These sessions are often mixed ability sessions such as Sport, Work Related Learning, Creative Arts and Hobbies and encourage inclusion and offer experience of working with a range of peers and staff.

 

East Kent College

Students in the Sixth Form have the opportunity to attend a Link Course at Thanet College, if this is felt to be appropriate. As many of our pupils attend the college on leaving school, this is seen as good preparation for the next step in their education.
