Saxon house voluntarily hosted a Viking invasion on Thursday 23rd June! Grimhild and Erm from Caent Viking re-enactment society, supported by Beera the Saxon (actually Flavia the Head of Department from Saxon House!) brought the Vikings to life through artefact handling, dressing up in Viking and Saxon clothing, loud and noisy story telling and a very exciting afternoon of weapon handling and Viking games.
Pupils and students held weapons and tried on chainmail and helmets. They also played Kubb, a type of skittles game. Pupils and students from across the school joined in throughout the day, participating in activities.
Grimhild and Erm were very impressed by the behaviour and politeness of the pupils and students and remarked on how skilled they were. They are looking to coming back next year.
