The Foreland School Water Day - May 27th 2016

In line with the school working towards the Unicef Rights Respecting School Award, we are planning a water day for all pupils and students across the school.

United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child Article 24:

Children have the right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help them stay well.

We are planning a day for all pupils to learn about their right to water and all about those children who do not have access to the water they need.

Activities will include a whole school assembly with water themed contributions from classes/departments, water based activities including, where appropriate, the Oxfam water vulnerability sensory activity, water filtering and sensory stories.

We are also requesting that all pupils and students do not wear school uniform on the day but each where something blue.
