  • Special School Consultation

    Special School Consultation As part of the review of special schools across the county, the public consultation is now live. The consultation will focus on proposed changes to two main areas: the designation and admission guidance for special schools (both maintained and those part of an Academy Trust), and the development of a school-to-school support model. The proposals set out the future designations of special schools, the supporting admission guidance and a school-to-school model of support. These changes are proposed to assist implementation of the wider changes for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across mainstream schools and Special Resource Provisions (SRPs).

  • Early Years Education in Kent – Supporting Settings to Embed Inclusive Practice

    Kent County Council have launched a consultation on a model for universal, targeted and specialist support in early years. The consultation document states: “This model will help early years settings to embed inclusive support for children and builds on existing good practice. The proposed model aims to ensure the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children have their needs identified accurately and assessed in a more timely and effective way, so they receive the right support, in the right place and at the right time.” Within the consultation document you will find details about the proposed model, as well as background information and what’s happening locally and nationally in relation to early years education. Kent County Council want to know what you think about the proposal and how it could impact you.

  • Young Artist Summer Show Competition 2024

    A letter will be coming home with your child this evening regarding the Royal Academy’s Young Artist Summer Show 2024. One of our parents suggested the school being involved in this wonderful competition. This is an opportunity for our children to have their work showcased online and at a prestigious London gallery. Children will be completing work in school which will be considered for submission however, if a child completes any work at home that parents would like included please send them in to school.

  • What's Next - Handbook for Deaf Pupils and Their Families

    This handbook was designed by Andrea Kite, our Teacher of the Deaf, to support deaf and hearing-impaired pupils and their families, to give clear details of what clubs, groups and other facilities are available in the local area, outside of school and for the future when school is finished. The handbook has been updated by Andrea, with some new additions and updates to times and addresses. The handbook can be found here .

  • Locality Model for SEN Inclusion

    Kent County Council are proposing to establish a Locality Model for Special Educational Needs (SEN) Inclusion in Kent. The proposed model will call for KCC, Schools, the NHS, and other SEN service providers to work together, locally, to secure identified improvements.
